Payment card errors
The most common reason is using a card we don’t accept. Stake doesn’t support:
AMEX
Stored value cards (e.g. VISA debit gift cards, other brokerage platform cards)
Multi-currency cards
Some cards linked to rewards programs
If you're seeing an error, try using a different card.
Updating your payment card
Stake only allows one payment card on file. To use a new card, you’ll need to remove the one currently stored.
You can check which card is linked to your account by following these steps:
On the Stake app:
Tap Manage
Select Accounts
Tap Manage payment methods
Go to Saved cards
On the web:
Click the dropdown in the top right corner
Select Settings
Choose Manage payment methods
Hover over the card to remove it
Once removed, you’ll be able to add a new card.
Still need help?
If you're unable to update your card online, tap ‘Still need help’ below and include:
The reason for the change
Important: Don’t include any card details in your message.
Our team will review your request within 24–48 hours and confirm once you can add a new card.
