Stake AUS dividend payments
ausReceiving dividends on Stake AUS (ASX)
As a CHESS-sponsored shareholder on the ASX, your dividends are managed by the company’s share registry. Here’s how they’re paid, how to change where they go, and what to know about key dividend terms and tax treatment.
Where do my ASX dividends go?
By default, any dividends you’re eligible to receive are paid directly into your Stake AUD account’s Buying Power.
Payment timing: Dividends typically appear in your Stake AUD balance within 1–2 business days after the official payment date.
-
View transactions:
In the app: Go to More > Funds and Balances > Transactions, then filter by ‘Dividends’.
On the web: Go to Menu > Funds & Balances > Transactions.
Initial setup: When you open your Stake account and buy ASX shares, the share registry updates your bank details to match your Stake BSB and account number. You may receive confirmation of this from the registry.
Why are my dividends paid late?
While companies pay dividends on the declared payment date, your funds are processed by the share registry and our broker partner before reaching your Stake balance. This can take 1–2 business days.
Managing dividend payments and reinvestment
Changing your dividend destination
If you’d prefer your dividends go to an external bank account, you’ll need to update your details directly with the relevant share registry.
Action required: Log in to the share registry’s online portal to change your bank details.
Common registries: Automic, Boardroom, Computershare and MUFG Corporate Markets. You can find which registry to contact for that specific security by searching the ASX using the relevant ticker.
Heads up: If you previously nominated an external bank account and then buy new shares, the registry may default the payment method for the new holding back to your Stake AUD account. Check your settings after any major portfolio changes.
Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRPs)
A DRP allows you to automatically reinvest dividends into additional shares in the same company if available.
ASX shares: To opt in, log in to the share registry portal and follow their DRP enrollment steps. You can’t set this up through Stake.
Key dividend dates
You can find the key dates for each security on the security information page on Stake, simply search for the ticker and scroll to the distributions section.
